Hours: Full-time and part-time roles available

Salary: Competitive, based on experience.

The Bagden Group is a family run business operating two pub restaurants in the Huddersfield and Holmfirth area.  We are passionate about community spirit, serving freshly cooked food at reasonable prices in a beautiful, welcoming setting and offering great bar and real ale choices.  The menus change seasonally, are French inspired and we use local suppliers and produce whenever possible.  Being a SME sized business, we are large enough to be able to make sure our staff are looked after, but small enough so that we are all names, not numbers.  We are proud of our team and what we’re achieving together.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for keeping our bar running smoothly — serving guests with confidence, supporting your team, and ensuring every drink is poured to perfection. You will lead shifts, manage cellar operations, and support the wider management team.

• Lead bar shifts, train team members, and ensure standards are maintained.
• Assist with cellar management — line cleaning, beer changes, and deliveries (training can be given).
• Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Handle cash and follow opening/closing procedures where required.
• Provide warm, attentive service to every guest.
• Prepare and serve a range of drinks — from cask ales and fine wines to cocktails and coffees.
• Keep the bar stocked, clean, and well-presented at all times. Supporting the Bar Manager to lead and motivate the team
• Maintaining standards across drink service, cleanliness, and customer care
• Helping to train new team members
• Ensuring smooth running of service during busy periods

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous bar experience (supervisory experience essential).
• Is confident, friendly, and thrives in a busy environment.
• Works well as part of a team and supports others under pressure.
• Takes pride in the details — from presentation to product knowledge.
• Is willing to learn new skills, including cellar management.
